How to generate a Google Map
If you are like most businesses, you probably include contact information and your business address on your website. Adding a Google Map is very simple and free when you use tools such as Google Maps. For some people signing up, and trying to figure out how to use the mapping website can prove tricky. A simple example map is shown below. To add a map like this to your website, all your need is a way of editing and updating the HTML for your website. If you have this to hand, then follow these simple instructions:
- Goto the our MapMaker Homepage
- Enter the address for your business location and make sure to include the country
- You should now see a your business address plotted on the map. You can use the controls on the map to zoom in or zoom out.
- You can use the Preview button to view how your map will look on your website page.
- You can tailor or customise your map by selecting the advanced options link.
- The code for your personalised map is at the bottom.
- Just use the Copy Code button to copy the Code and then paste it to where you want to use it. The Link field contains the code that you might use to link directly to a map on say your Facebook page or in a Twitter Post or an email. The HTML field contains the code that you need to insert a map on your website, like the example map that we have included above.
